My first post

This was my first attempt at papier mache and not very good. I mixed egg boxes, water and PVA glue in a food processor. It is quite lumpy and I'd appreciate any advice on how to improve this..

I painted 2 coats of acrylic, decorated it and varnished it.

I love the colours you have used here, Julie. It is very pretty and I even like the lumps!!

2nd Chance crafts

Hello everyone..I am new to all this and keep having to call on my friend Sue Allan ( Little Imperfections) I wish I was as 'imperfect' as she is!!

I live in S. Oxfordshire in a tiny village near Wallingford but come from Yorkshire, which I miss. Anyone from N. Yorks out there?

I started renovating and decorating with folky flowers 20 years ago. I learnt it while living in S. Africa and when we came back to U.K. I scoured junk shops and car boots for anything cheap that I could clean up, paint, decorate and hopefully sell.

It all went very well for years but then declined as the majority wanted to go minimal. ( Ikea was a great influence on a lot of folk, but did nothing to help me!!!)

However much to my delight, pretty country things seem to be coming back slowly and that's good because I just can't stop renovating and decorating. I wish I had a work shop, but all I have is a dining room table!!!! That's o.k. for small things but not so good for funiture. There always seems to be articles either just painted, just varnished or half finished in various parts of the house. That's why I'd love a work shop. It's not going to happen!
