My worktable today at the Stamping Ground
Today I thought I would have a change from painting so I covered one of these stone jars in decoupage, just nice wrapping paper cut up, glued on and varnished. Not so keen on it but some one liked it enough to buy it, so that's o.k.
Th other one is just my usual flowers. I must practice some new flowers. I call these 'Utensil holders',but of course they would be great for flowers as well.
I thought I would start 'Christmasy' things so I cleaned up this tatty old candle holder and, sprayed it black with cellulose and them 'tried' to paint holly!
The little heart is cut from a piece of hardboard found in the garage.
I am always looking for old curtain poles as they are ideal for making the uprights for wellington boot stands. Bases are not a problem as we seem to have plenty of wood in the garage. The bases have 2 coats of yacht varnish on to protect them in wet weather.
oh what a brilliant idea to use old curtain poles as well boot supports! Your painting is so pretty too...Moira
ReplyDeleteThe decoupage looks fantastic...I look forward to seeing it in the flesh...it looks beautifully textural.

I really like the decoupage but overall I think I like the country charm and simple painted designs better! Keep on doing what you're doing!

Your painting is lovely, as is the light in your room! I have a friend who teaches this sort of painting - you gals are so very clever and patient!
ReplyDeleteI was struck by all the light in your room. And you have something sold before you finish it? Great! Happy belated WOYWW (#2).
ReplyDeleteLovely, purple text, do you think you will keep it?
ReplyDeletePosh people would call it aubergine.
How is the plumbing coming on? If your drain was a house plant you could safely go away for a year and it wouldn't need watering.

Hi Julie
ReplyDeleteI have an award for you if you wish to accept it. It was given to me by Sherry and I need to pass it on to five blog authors. If you would like to display it on your sidebar I will help you to install it.
